Passport
to Leadership: Creating Physician-Citizens
Background- Program based on JAMA article and AMA's recommendations for physicians to act as leaders locally and nationally (JAMA. 2004; 291(1): 94-98)
- Year-long program that can be repeated each year
- Three tracks from which to choose, with slightly different requirements
- Each year of successful completion will be noted in the Dean's Letter
How to Apply for Certification
All tracks:
- Hold a position in a student organization or organize an event within a student organization
- Read "Physician-Citizens: Public Roles and Professional Obligations" (JAMA 2004; 291(1):94-98)
- Attendance at:
- Annual Leadership Retreat in Rockford (date TBA, in January 2013)
- One Dialogue with the Deans event
- Leadership Series Event (4 hour session with invited guest speakers)
- Completion of one of the track-specific sets of criteria described in the Powerpoint presentation below
- Turn in completed application and passport documenting event attendance
